DBA-LEVEL I

 

Dominion Enterprises, the photo guide/classified publication industry leader in the US (www.forrent.com), seeks a successful individual to administer and further develop our SQL Server databases. This challenging opportunity is for candidates desiring to improve overall performance of the databases.

 

 

·        Designs, implements and maintains a complex MS SQL Server database environment.

·        Consults and works with the developers, and associates to resolve application or data conflicts.

·        Works with management to develop strategies to support the organization’s objectives.

·        Responsible for quality control, auditing and security of databases to ensure accurate and appropriate use of resources and data.

·        Performance tuning

·        Create ETL processes to process data using SQL Server tools such as SSIS

·        Writing complex T-SQL (stored procedures, queries, etc)

·        Building reports using SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)

 

·        Thorough working knowledge of MS IIS, SQL Server 2000/2005, and Windows 2000/2003.

·        Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to effectively exchange ideas and information and effectively relate to others in order to accomplish work responsibilities, and strong troubleshooting skills.

·        Ability to work in a 24x7 support environment and to communicate and work effectively in a team environment.

 

A minimum of three-year full time DBA experience is required. PHP and VBScript are a plus.
